> **Short answer:** Most feature request tools can push a post into Jira and link it. They differ on four things: whether status syncs both ways, whether issues get created automatically by rule, whether engineers see vote counts inside Jira, and whether you can connect Jira Data Center. FeatureOS and Featurebase create issues by rule. ProductLift and UserVoice put vote counts on the Jira issue. Sleekplan, ProductLift, UserVoice and Productboard (Enterprise) support Data Center. Jira Product Discovery skips the integration entirely because it lives inside Jira.

We make FeatureOS, one of the tools below, so weigh that section accordingly. Every claim here comes from the vendor's own integration page, help article or Atlassian Marketplace listing, checked on **2026-11-06**. Where a vendor's docs did not say, the table says "Not stated" rather than guessing.

## What to check before you pick

1. **Which way does status move?** If engineers only touch Jira, you want Jira status to update the feedback post so voters hear about it. If PMs plan in the feedback tool, you also want the reverse.
2. **Who creates the Jira issue?** Manual push is fine for a few posts a week. Past that, posts get forgotten. Rule-based push fixes that.
3. **Does the engineer see demand?** A vote count on the Jira issue answers "why are we building this?" without a meeting.
4. **Cloud or Data Center?** Many feedback tools only ship an Atlassian Cloud app. If your Jira is self-hosted, this cuts the list in half.

## FeatureOS

Posts become Jira issues by hand (**Create In Jira**) or by rule. A rule fires on a status change, a post created in a status, or a post approved in a status, and can filter by board, submitter and tags. Each rule can target a different Jira project. The [push rules guide](/blog/jira-automatic-push-rules-feature-requests) walks through the setup.

Status sync has three modes: one-to-one (any linked issue updates the post), all-to-one (the post moves only when every linked issue reaches the status), and FeatureOS-to-Jira. You choose whether voters get notified. The glance panel in Jira shows the linked post with its votes and comments. Comments push from FeatureOS to Jira, and you can map post fields to Jira custom fields. Push from Jira also works, so engineering-created issues can become posts (all per the [Jira integration page](/integrations/jira)).

**Best for:** teams with a busy public board that want issues created by rule and voters told when Jira moves.

**Where others win:** the [Atlassian Marketplace listing](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1227649) is a Jira Cloud app. Comments do not flow back from Jira. Full details on the [Jira integration page](/integrations/jira).

## Canny

Canny links posts to Jira issues and maps Jira statuses to Canny statuses. Its help article says the newer Ideas version has "full 2-way status sync", while on legacy posts "status sync is one-way only", from Jira into Canny. Issues are created by pushing a post or linking an existing issue.

**Best for:** teams already on Canny Pro who want status mapping without extra tools.

**Watch for:** the integration needs the Pro or Business plan, and the [Marketplace listing](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1217889/canny-for-jira) is a Jira Cloud app. Check whether your account is on Ideas or legacy posts before you count on two-way sync. More in [Canny alternatives](/blog/canny-alternatives).

## Featurebase

Each sync rule picks a direction: bidirectional (the recommended option), Featurebase to Jira, or Jira to Featurebase. New posts are added to Jira automatically for the default team in your settings. Featurebase's help article says posts created before setup do not sync. From Jira you can see the linked post's comments, votes and similar posts.

**Best for:** teams that want auto-creation and per-rule sync direction with few seats.

**Watch for:** the [Marketplace listing](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1230641/featurebase-for-jira) is a Jira Cloud app, and per-seat pricing grows with your team. See [FeatureOS vs Featurebase](/alternatives/featurebase).

## Productboard

Productboard's integration page says statuses and fields "sync both ways" through webhooks, and rule-based automations update a feature's status when its linked Jira issue moves.

**Best for:** product orgs that plan roadmaps in Productboard and deliver in Jira, including on Data Center.

**Watch for:** "Jira Server and Data Center connections require the Enterprise plan." Free and Plus get 1 integration configuration, Business 5. See the [Productboard comparison](/alternatives/productboard).

## UserVoice

UserVoice shows linked items on the Jira issue in a "UserVoice links" custom field, with their voter counts and public status. It works with Jira Cloud and Jira Data Center (Server).

**Best for:** enterprises on self-hosted Jira that want engineers to see demand.

**Watch for:** UserVoice says updating one side "does not automatically change the status of the linked object" in the other. Someone still moves statuses by hand. See [UserVoice alternatives](/blog/uservoice-alternatives).

## Frill

Open an idea, click **Send to Jira**, and Frill creates an issue with the idea's title, description and a link back.

**Best for:** small teams that send a few ideas to Jira and close the loop by hand.

**Watch for:** Frill says the integration "works with Jira Cloud only". Its help article does not describe status sync. See the [Frill comparison](/alternatives/frill).

## Sleekplan

Sleekplan keeps "the post's status and the issue's status in sync in both directions", using a status map. You link or create issues manually from the Jira panel. Data Center has its [own integration](https://sleekplan.com/help/integrations/jira-data-center), connected with a personal access token and a webhook.

**Best for:** small teams on self-hosted Jira that want two-way status on a budget.

**Watch for:** rule-based issue creation is not described. See the [Sleekplan comparison](/alternatives/sleekplan).

## ProductLift

ProductLift's integration page says status changes on either side move the other "within seconds", and each Jira issue gets a summary block with voters, accounts and MRR. Jira Server and Data Center can connect if the instance is reachable over HTTPS and supports API token auth.

**Best for:** teams that want revenue context on the Jira issue itself.

**Watch for:** push is one click per post; no rules are described.

## Jira Product Discovery

Ideas live in Jira, so there is nothing to integrate. On an idea's **Delivery** tab you create or add delivery tickets, and a progress bar reflects their statuses by issue count or story points. Linked tickets must be on the same site as the discovery project.

**Best for:** product teams whose whole process already runs in Jira.

**Watch for:** it is not a public voting board. If you want customers voting, see [how to set up customer feature voting in Jira](/blog/feature-voting-in-jira) for the workarounds, and [Jira Product Discovery pricing](/blog/jira-product-discovery-pricing) for what creators cost.

## Recommendations

1. **Issues created by rule, voters notified from Jira:** FeatureOS or Featurebase.
2. **Self-hosted Jira Data Center:** Sleekplan, ProductLift, UserVoice, or Productboard on Enterprise.
3. **Revenue and vote context on the Jira issue:** ProductLift; UserVoice for voter counts.
4. **Two-way status, manual push, small budget:** Sleekplan.
5. **Everything stays inside Atlassian, no public board:** Jira Product Discovery.

FeatureOS plans are seat bundles: Starter $60/month for 5 seats, Growth $120 for 10, Business $250 for 15. Jira is on every plan; Starter allows 3 enabled integrations.
