> **Short answer:** If you need a free plan, look at Featurebase, Sleekplan, Fider or UserJot, because FeatureOS has none. If you only need a voting board at a low flat price, Upvoty or Nolt is enough. If you want feedback, roadmap, changelog, knowledge base and surveys in one product, with voters never billed, FeatureOS is still a good place to stay.

We make FeatureOS, so this is our own list of reasons to leave us. We wrote it because other vendors already rank for this search, and some of what they say about our pricing is out of date. Every competitor price below was checked on the vendor's pricing page on **2026-11-04**. FeatureOS prices are from our [pricing page](/pricing).

## What FeatureOS costs today

| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Seats included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $60/mo | $600/yr | 5 |
| Growth | $120/mo | $1,200/yr | 10 |
| Business | $250/mo | $2,500/yr | 15 |

Extra seats are $15 a month each. Pay only for team seats: voters, commenters and readers are never billed. There is no free plan; there is a 14-day free trial. Older posts that quote other FeatureOS prices describe plans we no longer sell.

## When FeatureOS is the wrong pick

Be honest with yourself about these before you start a trial:

- **You need a free plan.** FeatureOS has none. Featurebase, Canny, Sleekplan, Fider, UserJot and Jira Product Discovery all have one.
- **You only need a voting board.** If you will never use a changelog, help center or surveys, a $15 to $29 flat-rate board does the job.
- **You want support and feedback in one product.** Featurebase has an inbox and AI agent; FeatureOS does feedback, and our sister product SupportWire does support.
- **Your delivery runs in Jira and the board is internal.** Jira Product Discovery fits that workflow without another vendor.
- **You need to self-host.** Fider is open source and can run on your own servers.

## When to stay with FeatureOS

- **Your board is busy.** Voters are never billed, so a growing community does not raise the price. Tracked-user pricing (Canny) does.
- **You have a few seats and many stakeholders who only read.** Seat bundles cover 5, 10 or 15 seats; viewers cost nothing.
- **You want the whole loop in one place.** [Feedback boards](/collect-feedback), [roadmaps](/roadmaps), a [changelog](/release-notes), a [knowledge base](/knowledge-base) and [forms and surveys](/forms-and-surveys) share one login and one customer list.

## Featurebase

Feedback boards, roadmap, changelog and a help center, with support tooling on top.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you want a free plan, or one product for support and feedback with few seats.

**Watch for:** per-seat pricing. Growth is $29 per seat a month, Professional $59, Enterprise $99, billed yearly ([featurebase.app/pricing](https://www.featurebase.app/pricing), checked 2026-11-04). A 6-person team on Growth pays more than FeatureOS Starter. Full head-to-head: [FeatureOS vs Featurebase](/compare/featureos-vs-featurebase).

## Canny

The best-known feedback board, with Autopilot for pulling feedback out of support and sales conversations.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** the free plan's 25 tracked users cover you, or Autopilot matters to you.

**Watch for:** price rises with tracked users, meaning anyone who posts, votes or comments. See [Canny alternatives](/blog/canny-alternatives) and [FeatureOS vs Canny](/alternatives/canny).

## Frill

Ideas, roadmap and announcements behind one widget.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you want a light, flat-priced loop for a small team.

**Watch for:** no knowledge base or surveys. See the [Frill comparison](/alternatives/frill).

## Nolt

A clean, focused voting board with a roadmap.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you want a board running in minutes and little else.

**Watch for:** Pro is $69 a month ([nolt.io/pricing](https://nolt.io/pricing), checked 2026-11-04). See the [Nolt comparison](/alternatives/nolt).

## Upvoty

Voting boards and a roadmap view at a low flat price.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** price is the deciding factor and voting is the whole job.

**Watch for:** no surveys or help center. See our [Upvoty notes](/alternatives/upvoty).

## Sleekplan

Feedback, roadmap, changelog and simple satisfaction surveys behind one widget.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you are an indie developer and the free Indie plan covers you.

**Watch for:** breadth over depth. See the [Sleekplan comparison](/alternatives/sleekplan).

## Fider

An open-source feedback board you can host yourself, or use hosted.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you must self-host or want open source.

**Watch for:** a voting board, not a roadmap-and-changelog suite. See the [Fider comparison](/alternatives/fider).

## ProductLift

Feedback voting, roadmap, changelog and a knowledge base for small SaaS teams.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you are a team of one or two and want a low flat price.

**Watch for:** extra team members are $15 a month each, so the gap narrows as you grow. See the [ProductLift comparison](/alternatives/productlift).

## UserJot

A newer tool with boards, roadmap and changelog, and a free plan.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** you are pre-revenue and want to start free today.

**Watch for:** a younger product with fewer integrations. See our [UserJot notes](/dossier/best-userjot-alternative-featureos).

## Userback

Visual feedback and bug reporting with screenshots, plus a feature request portal.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** most of your feedback is "this button is broken" from testers and clients.

**Watch for:** it is built around bug capture first; the changelog and help center are not its focus. See the [Userback comparison](/alternatives/userback).

## Jira Product Discovery

Atlassian's idea capture and prioritization tool.

**Pick it over FeatureOS if:** prioritization is internal and delivery already runs in Jira.

**Watch for:** it is not a public voting board, and contributors need an Atlassian account. See the [Jira Product Discovery comparison](/alternatives/jira-product-discovery).

## Recommendations by team type

1. **Pre-revenue, no budget:** Sleekplan Indie, Fider, UserJot Free or Featurebase Free.
2. **Only need voting, small budget:** Upvoty or Nolt.
3. **Solo founder, want the full loop at a flat price:** ProductLift or Frill.
4. **Feedback plus support desk, few seats:** Featurebase.
5. **Mostly bug reports from testers or clients:** Userback.
6. **Delivery in Jira, internal prioritization:** Jira Product Discovery.
7. **Busy public board, growing team, want boards, roadmap, changelog, docs and surveys together:** stay with FeatureOS.
