Jira Product Discovery is priced per creator. Contributors are free, but Atlassian says they need an Atlassian account.

Here is the plan list:

| Plan | Price | Billing basis |
| ---------- | -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Free | $0 | Up to 3 creators |
| Standard | $10.50 | Per creator, per month (monthly price shown) |
| Premium | $26.25 | Per creator, per month (monthly price shown) |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Billed annually |

Figures come from [Atlassian's Jira Product Discovery pricing page](https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/product-discovery/pricing) as of Nov 2026.

## What a real team pays

The per-creator price is low. The question is how many creators you need. Check Atlassian's page for exactly what a creator can do that a contributor cannot.

| Creators | Standard (monthly) | Premium (monthly) |
| -------- | ------------------ | ----------------- |
| 3 | $0 on Free | $0 on Free |
| 5 | $52.50/mo | $131.25/mo |
| 10 | $105/mo | $262.50/mo |

That is just the monthly prices above times the number of creators. Check Atlassian's page for the annual rate and for what changes between Free, Standard and Premium.

If three creators is enough, Free is hard to beat. Past that, Standard is still cheap for internal idea management.

## What you are paying for

Jira Product Discovery is built for the product team inside Jira. You capture ideas, score them, build roadmap views and link ideas to delivery work in Jira. If your company already lives in Atlassian, that link to delivery is the main reason to buy it.

What it is not built for is the customer side. Your customers do not log in to Jira. Contributors need an Atlassian account, so a public board where any customer can post and vote is not what this tool is for.

## Where FeatureOS fits

FeatureOS solves a different part of the job. It gives customers a public portal to post ideas and vote, a public roadmap, a changelog that tells voters when something ships, and a knowledge base. It syncs with Jira, so feedback stays linked to the work.

FeatureOS pricing is seat bundles:

- Starter: $60/mo with 5 seats ($600/year billed annually)
- Growth: $120/mo with 10 seats ($1,200/year)
- Business: $250/mo with 15 seats ($2,500/year)
- Extra seats: $15/mo each

There is no free plan. There is a 14-day trial, extendable to 30 days, and a Startup Program that gives 6 months free on Starter. You pay for your team's seats, not for the customers who vote.

So on price alone, Jira Product Discovery Standard is cheaper for a small internal team. FeatureOS costs more because it does the customer-facing part that Jira Product Discovery does not try to do.

## Which one should you pick

- **Atlassian shop, planning is internal:** Jira Product Discovery. Free if you have 3 creators or fewer.
- **You want customers to post and vote without an Atlassian login:** FeatureOS, synced to Jira.
- **You want both:** a lot of teams run Jira Product Discovery for internal planning and FeatureOS as the customer portal. They do not compete for the same job.
