Short answer: Teams leave Canny mostly over tracked-user pricing: the bill grows as more customers vote. If you want a cheap voting board, look at Upvoty, Nolt, Sleekplan or the open-source Fider. If you want feedback, roadmap and changelog in one place, look at Featurebase, Frill, ProductLift or FeatureOS. If Canny's free plan covers you, or you rely on its Autopilot feedback capture, staying on Canny is a fair choice.
We make FeatureOS, one of the tools below, so weigh that section accordingly. Every price here was checked on the vendor's pricing page on 2026-11-04. For a head-to-head, see FeatureOS vs Canny. For the wider category, see feature request software.

FeatureOS
FeatureOS covers feedback boards, roadmaps, a changelog, a knowledge base and forms and surveys. Pay only for team seats: voters and commenters are never billed, so a busy board does not raise the price.
Best for: teams leaving Canny because tracked-user pricing grew with their community.
Where Canny is ahead: Canny has a free plan and includes Autopilot, which captures feedback from support and sales conversations. FeatureOS has no free plan.
Moving from Canny: FeatureOS has a built-in Canny importer. Paste your Canny API key, map your statuses, and your boards, posts, votes and comments come across. See how the switch works.
Featurebase
Feedback boards, roadmap, changelog and a help center, with support tooling on top.
Best for: teams that want feedback and support in one product with few seats.
Watch for: per-seat pricing. Growth is $29 per seat a month, Professional $59, Enterprise $99, and the AI agent is billed per resolution (featurebase.app/pricing, checked 2026-11-04). See Featurebase alternatives.
Frill
Ideas, roadmap and announcements behind one widget.
Best for: small teams that want a tidy loop without much setup.
Watch for: it is deliberately light; surveys or a knowledge base mean another tool. See the Frill comparison.
Nolt
A clean, focused voting board with a roadmap.
Best for: teams that want a board running in minutes at a flat price.
Watch for: fewer extras than an all-in-one tool. Pro is $69 a month (nolt.io/pricing, checked 2026-11-04). See the Nolt comparison.
Upvoty
Voting boards and a roadmap view at a low flat price.
Best for: the cheapest move off Canny when you only need voting.
Watch for: no surveys or help center. See our Upvoty notes.
Sleekplan
Feedback, roadmap, changelog and simple satisfaction surveys behind one widget, with a free Indie plan.
Best for: indie developers and very small teams.
Watch for: breadth over depth. See the Sleekplan comparison.
Fider
An open-source feedback board you can host yourself, or use hosted.
Best for: developer-led teams that want open source or must self-host.
Watch for: a voting board, not a roadmap-and-changelog suite; self-hosting means you run the servers. See the Fider comparison.
ProductLift
Feedback voting, roadmap and changelog for small SaaS teams.
Best for: small teams that want the full loop at a low flat price.
Watch for: extra team members are $15 a month each (productlift.dev/pricing, checked 2026-11-04).
UserJot
A newer tool with boards, roadmap and changelog, quick to start, and a free plan.
Best for: early-stage founders.
Watch for: a younger product with fewer integrations. See our UserJot notes.
Jira Product Discovery
Atlassian's idea capture and prioritization tool, built to hand work off to Jira.
Best for: product teams that already deliver in Jira and want internal prioritization.
Watch for: it is not a public voting board; contributors need an Atlassian account. See feature voting in Jira.

Switching from Canny to FeatureOS
FeatureOS has a built-in Canny importer: paste your Canny API key in the import wizard, map Canny statuses to yours, and boards, posts, votes, comments, tags and owners come across. Start with a 14-day free trial, run the import, and compare with real data before you cancel Canny. See the Canny switch guide →
