An in-app feedback widget is a small panel inside your product where users can post an idea, vote on others and see what shipped, without opening a new tab. The useful ones know who the user is, suggest similar requests before a duplicate is posted, and send everything to the same board your team already triages.
A customer upvotes Dark mode on the public FeatureOS portal; in the admin panel it climbs the vote-sorted list to the top with 66 votes, goes Planned, then Shipped with a changelog entry and a help article, and syncs to Slack, Jira, Linear and Intercom.

How FeatureOS does it
One widget for requests, roadmap and updates.
Add the FeatureOS widget with a script tag or the featureos-widget npm package. Choose which modules it shows: feature requests, roadmap, changelog, knowledge base and surveys. Pass a signed token for your logged-in users so every post and vote is tied to a real account.
- Modules: requests, roadmap, changelog, help articles, surveys
- Popover on your button, or a left, right or centered panel
- Theme, accent color, launcher icon and button text
- JWT sign-in for your users; limit which boards they post to
- Similar posts suggested before a duplicate is submitted
- "New" indicator when a changelog entry is published
